6. User Rights and Consent Management

6.1. Access and management of data. You have the right at any time to view, update, correct, or delete your personal data stored in your Godlike.host account. You can do this through the account settings in your personal cabinet or by contacting our support service. Please ensure that you update your data in a timely manner if there are any changes.

6.2. Data subject rights under GDPR. In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights regarding your personal data, namely:

  • Right of access: You have the right to request confirmation of whether or not we are processing your personal data, and if so, to obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification: You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data concerning you, as well as the right to have incomplete personal data completed.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”): You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data if there is no longer a lawful reason for us to continue processing it (for example, the data are no longer necessary for the purposes for which they were collected, or you have withdrawn consent and there is no other legal basis for processing). Please note that this right is not absolute – for instance, we cannot delete information that we are legally obligated to retain (see clause 7.3 of this Policy).
  • Right to restriction of processing: You have the right to ask us to temporarily restrict the processing of your personal data (apart from mere storage) in certain circumstances, for example, if you contest the accuracy of the data or have objected to its processing, for the period during which we are considering your request.
  • Right to data portability: For data that we process based on your consent or for the performance of a contract and which is processed by automated means, you have the right to receive that personal data from us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and to transmit those data to another service provider. Where technically feasible, you may also request that we transfer the data directly to another provider, if this does not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others.
  • Right to object: You have the right to object to the processing of your personal data when we process it based on our legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes. In particular, you can opt out of receiving marketing communications (newsletters, promotional offers) from us at any time. To do so, use the unsubscribe link provided in each such email, change your subscription settings in your personal account, or notify our support team of your refusal.
  • Right to withdraw consent: If we process your data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

6.3. Implementation of rights. To exercise any of your rights listed above, you may contact us by email at questions@godlike.host or through our support service. We may ask you to verify your identity (for example, by logging into your account or providing certain information) before executing your request, in order to ensure that your rights are exercised by you or your authorized representative. We will review and address legitimate requests free of charge, except in cases of repetitive or manifestly unfounded/excessive requests, in which case a reasonable fee may be charged as permitted by law.

6.4. Withdrawal of consent and account deletion. If you wish to withdraw your consent to the processing of personal data (in cases where we have requested your consent) or to completely delete your account and the data associated with it, you can send us a corresponding request in writing to questions@godlike.host. Please be aware that withdrawing consent for critical categories of data that are necessary for providing the Services (such as contact and payment information) may result in our inability to continue providing services to you. In some cases, withdrawing consent will necessitate the termination of service and deletion of your server or other provided services if we cannot provide the service without the relevant data or if doing so would be unlawful (for example, the absence of required registration data might violate industry regulations). We will inform you if, following your withdrawal of consent, we are unable to continue providing you a particular service.

6.5. Disagreement with the Policy. If you do not agree with any terms of this Privacy Policy, we ask you to refrain from using our website and services. In the event that you have already provided personal information but now wish to limit its use or disclosure, please contact us by email at questions@godlike.host with a description of your requirements.

7. Data Security

7.1. Technical protection measures. We take the necessary organizational and technical measures to protect users’ personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. In particular, we employ a set of modern security tools, including encryption of data transmission (SSL/TLS protocol for secure connections when transmitting information), firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other measures to protect our servers and databases. Access to personal data within our organization is granted only to those employees who need it to perform their job duties, and all such personnel are obligated to maintain confidentiality.

7.2. Internet limitations. Although we strive to protect your data to the greatest extent possible, it is important to understand that no method of data transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage guarantees absolute security. Technology is continually evolving, and new hacking methods may emerge. Therefore, we cannot provide an absolute guarantee of information security during transmission over the Internet. Nonetheless, in the event of a personal data breach or security incident, we are committed to acting in accordance with legal requirements (including notifying supervisory authorities and affected data subjects in cases required by the GDPR).

7.3. Retention periods. We store your personal data for 3 years after your account is cancelled. The data from your account and information related to service provision will be retained as long as you have an active account or an ongoing contract, and for 3 years after its termination – for instance, to accommodate support inquiries, account reactivation, or dispute resolution. Certain data may be stored longer than the above periods if required to fulfill legal obligations – for example, information about payments (including invoices) must be retained for at least the period mandated by tax law (in Romania, this is 10 years). After the expiration of the applicable retention periods, personal data will be securely deleted or anonymized if it is no longer needed.

8. Changes to the Privacy Policy

8.1. The Provider reserves the right to make changes and additions to this Privacy Policy. Reasons for updates may include, among others, the introduction of new services or features, changes in legal requirements, technological updates, or changes in business processes. The current version of the Policy is always available on our website, and we indicate the date of the latest update at the top of the document.

8.2. Notification of changes. In the event of significant changes to the procedures of personal data processing (for example, expanding the purposes or categories of data collected), we will make an effort to notify users about such changes. Notification may be carried out by posting a prominent notice on the website, via a pop-up message upon account login, or by email (if we have your email address). Continued use of our services after the changes come into effect will signify your acceptance of the updated Policy. If you do not agree with the changes, you have the right to stop using the service and to request deletion of your data as described above.

8.3. We recommend that you periodically review this page to stay informed about the current version of the Privacy Policy. Any questions regarding the provisions of this Policy may be directed to us by email at questions@godlike.host or through our support service.
