How to open console in Valheim?
Valheim is a great survival simulator in the Viking world, but sometimes you don't want to waste your time collecting resources or endless battles with enemies and just enjoy the sandbox. If the game seems too complicated for you, or if you are a server administrator or, for example, make videos about this game, a console will be a useful tool for you. In this short guide, we'll show you how to open the console, what commands exist, and who can access them.
Activating the console
- Launch Steam and find Valheim (1) in the list of games in your library, right-click on it, and select "Properties" (2).
- In the "General" tab (1), find the "launch options" line and write
-console(2) in it, then close this window and launch the game.
- Enter the world and press the F5 key (1), after which a console window with a command line will appear on your screen (2).
IMPORTANT
If the console does not appear when you press F5, check if the -console startup option is saved in the game properties and restart the game!
Console commands for the player
help- Shows the available commands.info- Displays current system information about the game.ping- Shows the ping to the server (in multiplayer).
Console commands for the administrator
ban [name/ip/userID]- Ban a player.banned- List of all banned players.kick [name/ip/userID]- Kick a player.lodbias [number]- Change the distance of drawing objects. The second parameter is a number from 1 to 5.save- Save the game immediately.unban [name/ip/userID]- Unban the player.
How to enable developer mode?
devcommands - a command that enables/disables developer mode. It works in a single player game or only for the host (server creator) in multiplayer.
debugmode - the command allows you to activate special functions by simply pressing the following keys:
[b] - a mode in which construction, as well as the creation and improvement of any items, do not require crafting stations and resources;
[z] - flight mode, in which [Space] - takeoff, [ctrl] - descent, [l. shift] - acceleration. Allows you to move around the game world very quickly;
[k] - kills all creatures (even tame ones) in a large radius around the character;
[L] - removes all objects lying on the ground in a certain radius around the character.
Below are some commands available only in developer mode.
freefly - free flight of the camera.
god - enables/disables the God mode. Invulnerability to damage.
ghost - enables/disables the ghost mode. Enemies ignore you.
setpower [code] - activates the specified power of the Fallen One for the character (GP_Eikthyr, GP_TheElder, etc.) and resets the rollback time.
puke - removes stamina and hunger, health/stamina resets to base values.
