What is the IP address of a server?

The IP address is useful information for players who frequently play on a server. In some cases, the server table in the game may not work reliably and quickly enough, so it would be more convenient to add the IP addresses of the servers you need to your personal list. If you have forgotten the name of a certain server, can't find it in the table, or want to log in quickly without waiting for the servers to fully load, knowing the IP address and corresponding command in the game console will help you.

To use the console and IP to connect to the Rust server, press F1. Write the command in the console: "client.connect.. (IP address)" and press Enter.

TIP

We suggest that you familiarize yourself with our guide on how to connect to the Rust server

Below, we have written down easy ways and steps to find the IP of a Rust server:

How to find the IP in the server description in the Rust client?

When you are already logged in to the game and see the list of servers, select the server you like and click on it, but do not click the "Join Server" button right away. You will see a description of the server created by the owner. Often, the developers of their servers use the description to indicate important information about the server and its IP address.

If you are already playing on the desired server, press the Esc key on your keyboard, the server description will open in the menu, where you can find the information.

How to find IP on third-party sites on the Internet?

Some third-party sites store a list of server information and have all kinds of information about your game. On such sites, you can find a lot of different information, including the IP address.

You can find these sites freely available on the Internet, for example, "Battlemetrics.com".

How do I find the IP in the Rust game console?

To use this method, you must first log in to the server. It is important that immediately after connecting, you open the console by pressing the F1 key. There you will see a field with the word "connect...", this field will also contain the IP address. You need to open the console immediately after connecting, because the IP field may disappear due to the large amount of information, then you will have to reconnect to the server.

NOTE

An example of a field in the console: connect: 0.0.0.0.0:0000 (attempt=0; timeout=10000). There is also a "Connecting" field, as shown in the screenshot above

You need the IP address and port number (after the colon in the address), which appear after the word "Connecting". This address can be used in combination with the connect command inside the console.

Now you know how to find the address of your favorite server. Do you want to have your own server and always remember its IP to invite other players? We will be more than happy to help you create a great server in Rust! Play together with GODLIKE.
