Minecraft server hosting has always had a unique look: blocky, retro, and charmingly basic. But now that Vibrant Visuals are available in the Bedrock Edition, you can now see your favorite Minecraft world in a completely different light - literally.

If you want to add theatrical shadows and luminous highlights to the game or just want to get it back to its old, sharp performance, the key to ultimate graphical control is knowing how Vibrant Visuals function. This is all the information you need.

TIP

What Is Minecraft Vibrant Visuals?

As part of a recent update, Minecraft Bedrock Edition got a new built-in graphical setting called Vibrant Visuals. This functionality is built right into it, unlike standard shader mods, and you can turn it on or off in the visual settings. It changes the world with better materials, improved lighting, reflecting surfaces, and dynamic shadows. No need for downloads or extra installs, it’s all built-in.

It’s a significant visual leap that maintains Minecraft’s original block-based identity while adding a polished and immersive layer of realism.

How to Enable Vibrant Visuals

Activating Vibrant Visuals is a straightforward process. Here's how to give your world a fresh coat of visual magic:

1) Launch Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

2) Navigate to Settings, then open the Video tab.

Minecraft Video Settings

3) Find the Graphics Mode dropdown menu.

4) Select Vibrant Visuals.

5) Choose between:

    • Favor Visuals – maximizes visual quality, ideal for stronger hardware.

    • Favor Performance – a lighter version for better FPS on mid-range systems.

6) Return to your game and enjoy the graphical upgrade in real time.

These changes affect everything from water reflections to mob glow effects. The game also adjusts certain environmental cues—like the shimmer of lava or the depth of shadows—to create a more dramatic visual narrative.

Customize Vibrant Visuals Settings

Once Vibrant Visuals is enabled, additional customization becomes available. Within the same Video settings, you'll find sliders and toggles for:

  • Shadow quality

  • Water clarity and reflections

  • Light bloom intensity

  • Ambient occlusion

These settings let you tailor the visuals to match your hardware's capabilities or your personal preference, without needing to reload the game each time. It’s an intuitive way to balance performance and beauty.

TIP

How to Turn Off Vibrant Visuals

While the feature is impressive, it’s not for everyone. Some players prefer the traditional Minecraft look or notice a drop in frame rate, especially on older devices. If you want to return to the game’s original appearance:

  1. Go to SettingsVideo.

  2. In the Graphics Mode menu, switch from Vibrant to either:

    • Fancy – keeps transparency and smoother edges.

    • Simple – optimized for performance with minimal effects.

  3. Exit the menu and your changes will take effect instantly.

NOTE

You don't have to restart the game or reload the world; Minecraft's new engine makes the switch without any problems

Is It Safe to Switch Back and Forth?

Yes! Turning Vibrant Visuals on or off is absolutely safe and won't change any of your saved worlds. The modifications are only visible and may be undone at any time, so it's easy to try things out or make changes on the go.

You can change settings in the middle of a session to explore how a certain biome or construction looks with different effects. This makes it a useful tool for both casual players and content (mods) creators.

Is Vibrant Visuals Available in Java Edition?

Vibrant Visuals is only available in Bedrock Edition right now. Java players still use third-party shaders like BSL or Sildur's, but Mojang is working to make all versions of the game the same, so it's probable that a comparable option will be added to the Java client in the future.
