Why do I need an IP address?
An IP address is your unique number on the network. In Minecraft, you need it for other players to join your server. Typically, an IP address is a set of four number combinations separated by periods, such as 196.152.12.0. Sometimes, to join a server, you also need to enter its port. The port is usually five digits written after the colon at the end of the IP address, for example, 196.152.12.0:25565.
Different types of IP addresses
Depending on your Internet service provider, your tariff, or your host, your IP address can be several types.
A static IP address is a numeric IP address that does not change and is permanent. Usually, this service requires an additional fee from your Internet provider.
A dynamic IP address is a numeric IP address that changes from time to time. Most Internet service providers give this type of address by default.
Alphabetic is an IP address that is provided to you on websites that arrange hosting services, for example, srv1.godlike.club:22832. If you use Godlike services, you can create your own literal address in a few minutes.
Ways to find your IP address
The first way is to check it via the command line.
To do this, open the command prompt by typing cmd in the search field and selecting Command Prompt in the search menu.
Then, in the command line, enter the ipconfig command.

The second way is to use third-party sites to determine your IP address.
There are many sites on the web that determine and display your IP address. You can use their services, but make sure that the site you come across is not a fraudulent one.
