Stardew Valley and Fortnite? What?
Could the next big crossover to captivate the Fortnite world involve... Stardew Valley? If the vision of the indie farming simulator's creator is anything to go by, the answer leans toward "yes."
In a candid Discord exchange, later shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user Panedwards, Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone—better known as ConcernedApe—expressed his openness to a collaboration with Epic Games, the creators of the battle royale. With a clear vision, Barone succinctly conveyed his crossover idea: "I want Pam in Fortnite."
Pam, a character from Stardew Valley’s cozy village life, is an older woman with curly blonde hair, a penchant for drinking, and a job as the town’s bus driver. Her choice may be unconventional, but it promises a skin that would be hilariously fitting within Fortnite’s eclectic roster.
Expanded Concepts
Barone hinted at a broader crossover idea, potentially involving characters like Abigail and Substation, alongside themed items such as Stardrop, Joja Cola, the Galaxy Sword, or even a slingshot. These elements could be integrated into a special Fortnite event, resonating deeply with fans of both games.
In an interview with IGN, Barone elaborated on his comments, sharing that he and the Stardew Valley team occasionally play Fortnite together, which inspired the idea of a Pam skin. He clarified, "There’s nothing officially planned, but yeah, we’d find it hilarious and fun to play as Pam (or any other Stardew character) someday."
A Fitting Match?
While Stardew Valley’s serene, pastoral atmosphere may seem mismatched with Fortnite’s high-octane combat, such a crossover wouldn’t be the most unusual the game has hosted. Fortnite’s universe has already welcomed collaborations with characters like Rick and Morty and even Martin Luther King Jr. Given Stardew Valley’s memorable cast and quirky items perfect for battle scenarios, this collaboration could surprisingly blend well.
For now, ConcernedApe remains focused on improving Stardew Valley and developing his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier. But perhaps, a Fortnite collaboration could find its way into his plans someday.
