The significance of the Fabric of Fate is evident in the Doom Beckoning spell, which requires one Nightshade, easily grown in your garden, and three units of the Fabric of Fate. You likely already have one from previous missions, but obtaining the additional two will require more effort, including collecting bones.
As the story progresses, the need for the Fabric of Fate reappears when crafting Shadow Extraction, necessary for the Permeation of Witching-Wards spell, which requires Shadow from this particular alchemy. You will need three more units of the Fabric of Fate.
During the early access phase, other spells may also benefit from the Fabric of Fate. For example, the Consecration of Ashes spell, which enhances your Tarot Arcana cards, requires six units. Similarly, Abyssal Insight activates the Pitch-Black Stone on training grounds, using two units among other materials. Early collection of this resource is recommended to take advantage of future opportunities.

There are several methods to obtain the Fabric of Fate:
- Completing Specific Tasks from the List of Minor Prophecies: Although this method is not always reliable, as tasks can be lengthy and sometimes offer other rewards.
- Trading Bones for Fabric of Fate with the Wretched Broker: This is the most efficient method for obtaining the material. After unlocking the Summoning of Mercantile Fortune spell, you can trade bones for the Fabric of Fate through the Wretched Broker.
- Obtaining as a Random Reward: Some tasks and interactions may reward you with the Fabric of Fate. For instance, the character Arachne, whom you may encounter in Erebus, often leaves some behind when you pass by her lair.
