Hades 2 offers a variety of locations to explore, one of which is the surface, accessible after activating special protection at the Crossroads. This area is rich with unique landscapes, rewards, and challenges. However, due to a family curse, the main character Melinoë has limited time to explore these territories.
Melinoë's health will continuously decline while on the surface, making it crucial for players to address this issue immediately. To safely explore the surface, it's necessary to activate a specific spell called "Unraveling the Fatal Bond," which involves several steps, including initiating the spell.
Before venturing to the surface, players need to neutralize the curse that constantly decreases Melinoë's health. This requires several attempts and an encounter with the character Moros, who symbolizes death. This interaction allows the player to use the "Unraveling the Fatal Bond" spell to lift the curse.
Components for the "Unraveling the Fatal Bond" Spell in Hades 2
To activate this spell, four ingredients are required. Players need to collect lotuses during visits to Oceanus, moss found on the surface even under the curse, nightshade seeds obtained with the Silver Shovel in Erebus, and the most challenging, thalamus.
The process of obtaining thalamus involves the continuous use of the Silver Shovel during journeys in the Underworld and entering through the Gates of Chaos to meet Chaos. Through friendly relations, enhanced by the gift of Nectar, Chaos grants access to Chaos Seeds, which are key to gathering thalamus.
Upon returning to the Crossroads, players have the opportunity to plant the Primeval Seed, which over time allows them to collect two thalami at once. After gathering all the necessary ingredients, the spell can be cast, allowing for safe exploration of the surface in Hades 2.
