Warhorse Studios has unveiled their latest work, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. This sequel to the revolutionary medieval RPG from 2018, known for its ambitious scale and technical issues, also sparked heated discussions due to the director's comments on race and historical facts. The new installment, slated for release at the end of 2024, promises a significant expansion of scale and includes a more diverse range of ethnicities.
The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and will immerse players in the life of Henry of Skalitz. His quest for vengeance after the murder of his family will ignite turmoil in 15th century Central Europe. The latest trailer highlights the improved capabilities and stark realism of the new release.
Imagine The Witcher 3 as a first-person game with open-world elements similar to Grand Theft Auto, focused on an accurate depiction of historical events. The plot will transport players to the city of Kuttenberg, where they will face the invasion of a foreign king.
"We aim to create what Kingdom Come: Deliverance was supposed to be initially but could not achieve before due to limited resources and experience," shared Daniel Vavra, the creative director, during a gameplay presentation. The studio announced that Deliverance II will be twice as large as its predecessor and will feature many enhanced immersion systems.
