What we fund
The grant is provided for the development of a new Minecraft modpack or for significant further development of an existing project.
We fund the development process itself, including balancing, quest creation, mod configuration, optimization, testing, preparation for public release, and community development. The number of grants available in each application round is limited.
Grant amount
The grant amount is determined individually after reviewing the application. When determining the amount, we consider:
- the scope of the modpack;
- the current stage of development;
- the complexity of implementation;
- the creator’s experience;
- the expected development timeline.
How the grant is paid
The grant does not necessarily have to be paid in a single payment. Depending on the project, funding may be provided:
- as a one-time payment;
- in two stages;
- in multiple stages after reaching agreed milestones.
Example: 30% after accepting the terms, 40% after completing a functional beta version, 30% after the public release. The specific payment structure is agreed upon individually.
Creator responsibilities
After receiving the grant, the creator agrees to:
- actively work on the project;
- stay in contact with the Godlike Host team;
- provide updates on significant development progress;
- complete the modpack within the agreed timeframe or notify us in advance about any changes;
- publish the modpack on CurseForge after development is completed.
Godlike Host placement
Program participants agree to:
- add the "Made for Godlike Workshop" banner to the modpack’s CurseForge page;
- include a mention of Godlike Host’s support in the modpack description;
- keep the banner on the page after release.
All required graphic materials will be provided by us.
Post-release support
We expect creators to:
- fix critical issues;
- update the modpack when necessary;
- keep the modpack functional;
- engage with their community.
No one is expected to release updates every week, but the project should not be abandoned immediately after receiving the grant.
Application requirements
At the time of application, you must have:
- a working alpha version;
- a core modpack concept;
- an approximate development plan.
Screenshots are welcome and help us assess the project, but they are not required.
We do not fund ideas alone, presentations, or documents without a working build.
Selection criteria
Preference is given to projects that:
- have an interesting and unique concept;
- demonstrate a high level of quality;
- already show meaningful development progress;
- have a realistic completion plan;
- are intended for long-term support;
- have the potential to build an active community.
What we provide
Program participants receive:
- development funding;
- a test server;
- informational support;
- promotion of the modpack through Godlike Host’s resources after release.
What we do not fund
The program does not cover:
- modpacks without an alpha version;
- projects that almost entirely copy existing modpacks;
- modpacks created exclusively using automated generators without meaningful original work by the creator;
- abandoned or inactive projects.
When a grant may be terminated
Godlike Host reserves the right to discontinue funding if the creator provided false information, development has effectively stopped without explanation, the project significantly deviates from the agreed concept, the program terms have been violated, or the creator refuses to fulfill the agreed sponsorship placement requirements.
