Creating and Managing Server Backups
Backups allow you to save the current state of your server and restore data in case of errors, misconfigurations, or unexpected data loss. Creating regular backups is a key part of safe and reliable server management.

Why Backups Are Important
Keeping regular backups helps you:
-
Protect data from accidental deletion or file corruption.
-
Quickly recover from configuration mistakes or failed plugin/mod updates.
-
Ensure a safe rollback point before making major changes to your server.
How to Create a Backup
-
Navigate to your server dashboard and click on the Backups section in the left sidebar menu.
-
In the Create Backup block, choose your desired backup type:
-
Server: Creates a full backup of your entire server ecosystem.
-
Database: Creates a backup targeted specifically at a selected database.
-
Folder: Creates a backup of a specific directory only.
-
-
Enter a recognizable Name for your backup.
-
(Optional) Configure advanced settings:
-
Exclude: Specify files or directories you want to skip.
-
Schedule Backup / Set interval: Set up automatic creation intervals and retention limits.
-
Locked: Toggle this option on to protect this specific backup from accidental deletion or automatic rotation.
-
-
Click Create Backup. Once the process starts, the status will show as Pending while your backup is being generated.
Understanding Backup Statuses
-
Pending: The backup process is currently in progress. Please wait until it finishes.
-
Completed: The backup has been successfully created and is fully ready for use or download.
Managing Completed Backups
Once a backup is Completed, it will appear in your backups list. Click the three dots (⋮) next to any backup to access the management menu:
-
Restore: Instantly roll back your server data to this backup's state.
-
Rename: Change the display name of your backup.
-
Lock / Unlock: Protect the backup from deletion or unlock it.
-
Delete: Permanently remove the backup to free up space.
-
Download: Export the backup file directly to your local device (available only for Completed backups).
TIP
Scheduled Backups: All your configured automated backups can be monitored in the Scheduled Backups section. If this section is empty, it means no automatic schedules are currently set active.
