How to Create Selective Backups (Specific Files or Folders)

Selective backups allow you to target and back up only specific directories instead of compressing the entire server. This is an incredibly efficient way to secure your most critical data-like world saves or database files-while significantly reducing backup generation times and keeping your storage usage under control.

    Step-by-Step Guide to Selective Backups

    1. Log into your Godlike Panel, open the My Servers list, and select your server.

    2. Navigate to the Backups section from the left navigation menu.

    3. Locate the Create Backup block and click on the Folder tab.

    4. Click the Select a Folder button.

    5. Browse the directory tree and click on the specific folder you want to back up.

    6. Confirm your selection by clicking the Select button.

    7. Enter a clear, descriptive name for your backup (e.g., World-Save-Before-Update).

    8. (Optional) Configure advanced settings:

      • Exclude: Type in specific file extensions or subfolders you wish to skip.

      • Schedule Backup: Turn this on to automate this selective process at regular intervals.

    9. Click Create Backup.

The system will now pack only your designated directory, keeping the final archive lightweight and focusing purely on your essential server data.
